The Wizard of Oz costumes and accessories

The Wizard of Oz is one of pop culture's most classic and beloved stories the world over. It originated as a children's novel called The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum and illustrated by W. W. Denslow. The book was first published on May 17th, 1900, and has continued in popularity to this day. This popularity led to 13 additional Oz books being written, as well as stage adaptations, film adaptations and more.

Perhaps the most famous adaptation is that of the 1939 musical Wizard of Oz film, starring Judy Garland. In this film, when Dorothy Gale's house is swept up in a tornado, she goes on an adventure through the Land of Oz with her pet dog Toto. There she meets Glinda the Good Witch of the North, as well as the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion. Dorothy is tasked by the Wizard of Oz to retrieve the broom of the evil Wicked Witch of the West.
